Standard cutting length is 5.4 m, which can be easily extended to any required length thanks to a modular bed construction. Wood-Mizer’s WB2000 features heavy-duty construction, low maintenance requirements, and efficient operation. The WB2000 uses wideband 75 mm blades or 100 mm stellite-tipped blades. When using 75 mm blades (available with 22.22 mm and 28.50 mm tooth spacing) the sawmill is especially cost-efficient in terms of blade maintenance costs. To ensure the best visibility of the cutting and log handling processes we offer an optional live-feed video system with two cameras as standard, expandable up to four cameras.

The PRO version of the sawmill uses an automatic PLC setworks system.

The 12-inch touch-screen displays various parameters such as the dimensions of the material, current head height, feed position and main engine power. To adjust these parameters, the operator simply has to use the touch screen to enter new settings.

The EC version uses a 5.7-inch touch-screen with the latest version of the SW PLC3 Setworks system.

The modern, heavy-duty bed has a log capacity of up to 6 tonnes. The massive twin C-channel steel beams that make up the frame are 400 mm tall by 110 mm wide. All hydraulic log handling functions – such as the log clamps, chain turners, power rollers, side supports and hold-down clamps – are modular, and can be moved to different bunks as needed.

The WB2000 can be used used as a standalone sawmill to fully process a log, or in addition to an existing business to process irregular logs or to produce custom orders that the existing equipment is not suited for. Thanks to the various hydraulic packages and bed lengths, the sawmill is very versatile. It can saw large diameter softwood, hardwood and tropical logs from 2.4 meters up to 12 meters.

Only one operator is needed to manage log handling, sawing, and timber removal for further processing making the WM4000 a highly profitable machine. The WM4000 adapts easily for whatever cutting requirements are needed and delivers higher log yield at lower investment and operating cost than alternatives, increasing profitability and ability to produce diverse products quickly.

The advanced PLC setworks are displayed on a 19 cm touch-screen monitor which presents board and cant sizes along with current head height, feed position, and blade power. The setworks feature new ways of increasing productivity and reducing steps required in the sawing process, including remembering the start and stop locations of the log to reduce unneeded head movement. A built-in powered board conveyor automatically turns itself off after moving a board or cant from the sawmill.

The log bed is heavily constructed – reinforced with 50% more steel than the WM3500. Servo motors ensure faster and accurate head positioning, resulting in more timber cut in each shift. Powerful hydraulic log handling enable easy manipulation of large logs and several options are available to meet your requirements.

The WM3500 requires only one operator to manage log handling, sawing, and remove finished boards for further processing. Powerful computer setworks, centralised controls, and heavy-duty hydraulic functions enable the operator to focus on producing quality timber at a high production rate.

The WM3500’s wide throat capacity cuts large diameter logs into boards or cants with help from the bidirectional chain turner, hydraulic toeboards, and heavy-duty log clamp.

The WM3500 uses thin-kerf, narrow band blades that maximise log yield and minimise waste and operational costs – increasing profits and competitiveness.

The LT20 cuts logs up to 80 cm in diameter and 4.8-8.4 m long. Log handling with the LT20 can be configured for the exact needs of your business – Manual or hydraulic log handling configurations are available to match productivity and budget requirements. The LT20 sawmill head retains the same productivity features of Wood-Mizer’s premium range. With the standard electronic SW Setworks, simply select the board thickness required and the head height automatically positions for each cut – no waiting for manual calculations. Forward and reverse movement is made by the adjustable power feed.

A water tank feeds lubrication directly to the blade to improve cutting performance and keep the blade clean. The electric blade guide arm keeps the blade supported while cutting various sized material. Blade tension is easily adjusted, and keeps the blade at the proper tension for cutting.

Popular Options

Full mobility for your sawmill can be achieved with the addition of a trailer package. The optional Debarker prolongs blade life by clearing away dirt and rocks from the bark. Petrol and diesel engine options available.

Heavy-duty, accurate, and easy-to-use, the WM1000 features a massive cutting head that moves along a twin-rail frame to convert large logs into halves, quarters, finished boards, or cants for resawing. The operator controls all cutting functions while standing on a platform that moves with the head and includes electronic setworks for accurate cutting.

The WM1000 uses thin-kerf, narrow band blades that are 50 mm to 75 mm wide, resulting in significantly improved log yield and less wood waste.

Built to last and run effortlessly in industrial applications, it easily integrates into existing operations with low installation costs. Simply extend the rails to cut longer logs.

It is available with or without log turning functionality. The automated log loader allows for each log to be rotated to an optimal position and then placed onto the moving spiky feed chain.

The log is guided by pressure feed rollers, giving it maximum stability in the cut. The operator may select the desired cutting size and the machine will automatically adjust to that size, removing the need to sort logs before sawing. Investing in log sorting capability increases log throughput.

The TV2000 is ideal for pallet mill and stud mill operations, where the product has relatively small cross-sectional dimensions.

The cutting head is designed to saw logs up to 95 cm in diameter and offers a maximum 73 cm board width (64 cm cant width) and 39 cm depth of cut. The standard blades used in the LT70 HEAVY DUTY are 38-50 mm wide and 4670 mm long blades. The head features the Electric Blade Guide Arm for securing the blade during sawing through different sizes of logs and the Automatic Blade Lubrication for improved blade performance.

The saw head can be optionally fitted with a debarker – for removing dirt and keeping the blades sharp longer, Laser Sight – showing the precise location where the blade will cut the log next, or Board Return Arms – for transferring freshly sawn boards from the top of the log to the conveyor.

From the Remote Operator Station the sawyer controls the sawing head precisely and comfortably up/down and forward/reverse with variable speed controls. Board thickness is set up only once and the SW10 Setworks, PLC1, PLC2, or Accuset 2 takes care of resetting the head to its starting position automatically after each pass.

The HEAVY DUTY sawmills are built on a large and strong bed complete with a board removal conveyor, absorption roller and the operator’s station. For easy handling of logs as heavy as about 3 tons, the sawmiller has a Super Hydraulics Package that is powered by a heavy-duty 5.5 kW hydraulic pump and includes a log levelling roller, 3 double vertical supports, 2 power rollers on 2 cylinders, a bi-directional chain turner and a central clamp on two rods. The bed configuration can be upgraded by options such as another bed section (0.9 or 3.6 m) for handling longer logs, log-loading deck, sorting table or raised legs of the bed.
